Eli came home with this creation he made at Riv Kids the home schooling group we attend. He proudly displayed it on the table for his Daddy to see when he got home from work. I wasn’t around when the viewing took place but later that afternoon Glenn pulls me aside and whisper asks “Why is Eli crucifying Pac men ghosts???”

I had to admit defeat too, I’m usually pretty good at deciphering stories and art works however this one had me thrown. My brain immediately starts turning over a plan to figure out what was really going on inside the inner workings of this creative geniuses’ mind without totally destroying his spirit by admitting we couldn’t quite tell what it was he had made. Just as I was putting the final touches on my plan, involving two, maybe three props and a convoluted series of misdirection’s, Glenn spurts out “Hey mate what’s this you made?”

The boy stops and turns a very hard to read face towards us, I tense up inside.

“ It’s a Ghost Plane” he states mater of factly like duh, how dumb are my parents! and runs off to play with his sisters with a smile on his face.
