We have been looking at contractions today, it did not run soothly.

Me: “I am going to read a word to you and I want you to tell me what words it is a contraction of. The word is Aren’t”

Lillian: “Aunty!”

Me: Can you please say your contractions to me before you go to free play time.”

Eli: “No!!!

Me: (insert random gentle persuasive words)

Eli: “AAAHhhhhggg!!!!” bangs fists down on the table “I cannot I can’t, I will not  I won’t and you aren’t going to make me” Then runs off

Alanah: “Well….at least you got him to say his contractions.”
