I wrote a post, it’s something I haven’t done in a while but I was so moved by a conversation I had with my 8 year old boy with Asperger’s that I didn’t want to trust the beauty of it to the decaying files of uncategorised images I loosely call my memory.

I guess a few of you read it and asked others to do the same… and then the internet popped in for a visit. I’ve never really had you all over before, I’m a little shy. But I really need you to know how honoured I felt to be a part of the conversation that sprang up, how special it was to have your words, your thoughts, appear in my little corner of the internets and how utterly cool Doctor Who is for bringing us togethers for that brief moment in time.

The Autism spectrum can be a lonely, scary, exhausting place to pitch a tent and sometimes I feel like I forgot the tent pegs. That’s why words are so very important, the words we share with each other are powerful cords. If we use them to encourage and support each other like you pack of random internet strangers did for me then stuff the pegs we can secure ourselves good and proper with the rope of warm fuzzy feelings we now have… I know, I talk too much and I imagine I am probably talking to myself anyway, but I had to say something to record how appreciative I feel so really all I want to say is this…thanks.
